E-Safety

Technology plays a significant part in today’s society. There is great importance placed on being able to communicate safely across various media platforms. At Stockwell Primary, teaching and learning has benefitted hugely by the introduction of iPads. However, this has placed greater significance on ensuring the pupils know how to stay safe, while using new technology. E-safety forms the foundation of our computing curriculum and underpins our cross-curricular approach to developing computing skills so E-Safety is not just when using desktop computers or iPads. Furthermore, pupils cover specific aspects of E-Safety with increasing difficulty and relevance as they progress through our computer curriculum from Years 1 -6. In addition in key stage 1, pupil’s knowledge of E-Safety is assessed through songs and self-assessed in key stage 2.  Again, pupils in key stage 2 participated in an E-Safety competition to promote responsible use of technology and  designing E-Safety posters, which will be displayed in our new multimedia suite.
