Healthy Schools

At Stockwell Primary we encourage children to adopt healthy lifestyles. We know that healthy, happy children make better learners.

  • Physical Activity
Stockwell delivers 2 hours of physical education each week. Alongside this children can take part in a range of structured physical activities at lunchtime as well as sports clubs during After School Club. Children are also encouraged to walk, scooter or cycle to school as part of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Healthy Eating
KS1 children are given a free nutritious piece of fruit each day. Our canteen serves balanced, nutritional meals at lunchtime and children who attend breakfast club are given a healthy breakfast to help them start the day in the best possible way.
  • PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)
Every week children have a dedicated PSHE lesson to discuss the importance of emotional health and wellbeing. Classes have taken part in anti-bullying workshops, discussed calming down strategies and made their own personal behaviour and learning goals.
  • Sustainable school
Stockwell is committed to educating the children on how we can care for our environment. We aim to reduce our waste and encourage children to reuse and recycle. We are developing numerous vegetable patches throughout the school (currently in the Nursery playground) and plan to use the produce grown in our meals at lunchtime or in our salad bar.
