About Us

There are three Children’s Centres within the Brixton Stockwell Better Start Area: Stockwell Children’s Centre, Liz Atkinson Children’s Centre and Jessop Children’s Centre, which are managed by the BJS federation. Our centres have a wide range of services from pregnancy up until a child’s fifth birth and our aim is to provide young children and their families the best start in life.

We are open Monday to Fridays
48 weeks a year and offer:

Support and Advice
Employment and Training Support, Citizens Advice, Childcare Advice, Breastfeeding/Infant Feeding Support.

Play Sessions, for parents and children
Stay and Play, Baby Play Sessions, Toddler Play Sessions, and Outdoors Play Sessions.

Health
Midwifery Appointments, Health Visiting Appointments, Chattertime Sessions with a Speech and Language Therapist, Vaccinations Clinics, Henry Child Health Workshops.

Parenting and Adult Learning
Circle of Security Parenting, Being a Parent, Baby and Us, Baby Steps, Together Time, ESOL classes.

Family Support
One to One case work support from our team of Better Start Workers.
